About This Event / イベントについて
The Sunshine City Bon Odori Festival is an Ikebukuro summer tradition dating back to 1978. The 47th edition features a towering 6m yagura (wooden tower) as the centerpiece, with bon odori dancing to Tokyo Ondo and Otsuka Monogatari Ondo each evening from 19:00 to 21:15.
The three-day festival (Thursday through Saturday) also includes a free children's mini-carnival and food stalls serving festival classics. Anyone can join the dancing — no experience required. Located at Sunshine City, directly connected to Ikebukuro Station underground.
サンシャインシティ納涼盆踊り大会は1978年から続く池袋の夏の風物詩。第47回は高さ約6mのやぐらを中心に、毎晩19:00～21:15に東京音頭や大塚ものがたり音頭で盆踊りを開催。
木曜から土曜の3日間開催。無料のこどもミニ縁日や屋台も。盆踊りは飛び入り自由、未経験OK。サンシャインシティは池袋駅と地下直結。

Anyone can join the dancing — no experience or yukata required.
盆踊りは飛び入り自由。浴衣も経験も不要。
The children's mini-carnival runs from 17:00 to 20:00 each day.
こどもミニ縁日は毎日17:00～20:00。
Food stalls open at 18:00; popular items sell out by 20:00.
屋台は18:00オープン。人気商品は20:00までに売切れることも。
