Ultra Heroes EXPO 2026 Summer Festival Returns to Sunshine City
The Ultra Heroes EXPO 2026 Summer Festival opens July 18 and runs through August 24 at Sunshine City's Exhibition Hall B in Ikebukuro, timed-entry system in effect. This year's edition doubles as a 60th-anniversary celebration of the Ultraman series, with heroes from across the franchise gathering alongside the cast of the newest TV series, Ultraman Teo, which began airing July 4.
The expo is split into two stages. Stage 1 runs July 18 to August 3, and Stage 2 runs August 5 to August 24, with August 4 as a closed day. The live stage show is timed-entry and replacement-based, meaning you enter for a specific performance slot and cannot re-enter the stage area once you leave.
The live stage and Meet the Hero
The live stage features Ultraman Teo and the main cast from the new series, plus past Ultraman heroes appearing as part of the 60th-anniversary programming. A special ticket tier, the Ultraman Series 60th Anniversary Special Seat, includes the right to join the Meet the Hero greeting event. Standard bench seats and single seats are also available.
Ticket prices are split into weekday and busy-day rates. Single seat tickets cost ¥3,500 for adults and ¥2,800 for children (ages 3 to elementary) on weekdays, and ¥4,000 for adults and ¥3,300 for children on busy days. The 60th-anniversary special seats run ¥11,000 on weekdays and ¥12,000 on busy days, while the premium bench seats are ¥17,500 weekday and ¥19,800 busy day. All prices include tax.
Ultra Shot and the Ultraman Department Store
Beyond the stage, the expo has a photo corner called Ultra Shot where visitors can take commemorative photos with Ultraman heroes, and the Ultraman Department Store merchandise area selling event-exclusive commemorative goods and the latest popular items. As an attendee bonus, the Ultraman Card Game PR card featuring Ultraman Tiga is being distributed to visitors while supplies last.
Because the stage is timed-entry, booking in advance through the official site is recommended for busy days, particularly the opening weekend and the O-bon period in mid-August. The venue, Exhibition Hall B on the 4th floor of the Bunka Kaikan building, is about a 15-minute walk from JR Ikebukuro Station Exit 35.
For families with young Ultraman fans, the Meet the Hero greeting is the main draw of the special-seat tier. The greeting gives children a chance to meet a hero up close, take a photo, and shake hands, which is difficult to replicate at the regular stage show where heroes perform at a distance. The merchandise area, Ultraman Department Store, stocks event-exclusive goods that are not available at regular retail, and the selection rotates between Stage 1 and Stage 2, so visitors attending both stages find different items.
