About This Event / イベントについて
Homyoji Temple (法明寺) is a historic Buddhist temple in Minami-Ikebukuro, and its cherry blossom season is one of Toshima's hidden gems. The temple approach (sando) is lined with cherry trees, and the grand wooden gate is framed by Somei Yoshino blossoms at peak bloom.
The temple is the parent body of Zoshigaya Kishomojindo — the two are walking distance apart, making a combined temple-and-cherry-blossom walking tour easy. Peak bloom usually falls in the last week of March to early April. Free to visit, quiet, and far from the festival crowds.
