The IKE·SUN PARK Summer Cooling Festival 2026 (Noryosai) is a family-oriented summer event held at IKE·SUN PARK, the public square at Ikebukuro's west gate. The August 29 session runs from 16:00 to 21:00, with a rain date of August 30.
The festival features domestic handheld fireworks — a rare opportunity in Tokyo, where personal fireworks are typically restricted. A professional fireworks artisan attends to teach proper safety rules and techniques. The event also includes a children's carnival (kodomo enchii) with classic festival games, student-run food stalls (yatai), and a water play area for cooling down.
IKE·SUN PARK is the redeveloped public space in front of Ikebukuro Station's west exit, known for its distinctive design and role as a community gathering point. The noryosai series runs on three Saturdays throughout the summer (June 27, July 25, and August 29), with the August 29 session being the final installment and falling within the Obon season's end.
