About This Event / イベントについて
The Ikebukuro Hikawa Shrine Annual Festival (Reitaisai) is the autumn celebration of the tutelary deity of the former Ikebukuro Village. Nineteen neighborhood associations participate, bringing mikoshi (portable shrines) and dashi (floats) to the shrine in a grand procession.
The shrine approach fills with food stalls, and the festival is one of the most community-spirited events in northern Ikebukuro. Exact dates for 2026 are to be confirmed by May — typically the mid-September weekend. Free to attend.
