The Ikebukuro Jazz Festival held its 20th and final edition in 2026, bringing free jazz performances across 8 venues centered on the Global Ring Theatre at Ikebukuro West Gate Park. All venues were free to attend with no reservation required — a rare gift in Tokyo's live music scene.
The festival featured a wide range of jazz styles, from traditional to contemporary, with performances running 11:00–19:45 across both days. Its closure marks the end of a beloved two-decade Ikebukuro tradition, but the spirit of community music lives on in the neighborhood's many live houses.
