The Fireworks Welcome Dome at the Konica Minolta Planetarium "Manten" in Sunshine City Ikebukuro offers a unique summer experience: fantasy fireworks projected across the full planetarium dome before each regular screening. Running from July 17 to August 31, 2026, the welcome video plays for approximately 5 to 10 minutes before the main program begins.
What makes this event special is that photography is permitted during the welcome video — a rare allowance in a planetarium setting. Visitors can capture the dome filled with blooming fireworks in photos and video, making it a popular summer Instagram spot.
