About This Event / イベントについて
The Zoshigaya Otori Shrine Autumn Festival (Reitaisai) is the annual celebration of the neighborhood's tutelary deity. Held on the weekend nearest September 10, the shrine grounds fill with food stalls, shooting galleries, yo-yo fishing, and other classic matsuri attractions.
The festival also features a mikoshi procession through the neighborhood streets. Otori Shrine is also famous for its November Tori no Ichi rake market — the Reitaisai is a quieter, more community-focused event. Free to attend, 15 minutes on foot from Ikebukuro Station.
